How Labour’s approach to the City of London goes hand in hand with upholding whiteness
Fran Boait, Danisha Kazi pages 78-86

Abstract

If a Labour government pursues a deregulatory financial agenda to stimulate growth this would only serve to uphold a deeply flawed economic model that is intertwined with racism, and further entrench widespread racial inequalities. The City of London’s global role was established alongside colonialism and white supremacy, and these dynamics continue to manifest to this day. By aligning itself with powerful vested interests in the City of London, the Labour party reinforces this status quo.
