Examining Labour’s strategy for tackling climate change: an introduction
Sean McDaniel pages 19‑23
Abstract
Labour has entered power again after fourteen years in opposition. In that time, the UK’s position as an international climate leader has been lost, while the devastating consequences of the climate crisis have become increasingly tangible. To meet the UK’s climate targets, while ensuring a just and socially inclusive transition, this Labour government will need to be clear with voters about the scale of the crisis we face, confront vested interests and take bold social and economic policy decisions.
