Mental health and parity of esteem: A policy quandary for Labour?

Abstract

Since 2010 funding in NHS mental health services has been eroded and services are under strain. In the wake of the pandemic, Labour must prioritise ‘parity of esteem’ for mental health provision and develop joined-up policies to tackle the problems facing the service, founded on a social model of mental illness.
